If your question is about a specific fax, include the destination number and roughly when you sent it. If it is about credits, open Settings in the app and include your install ID, the long code at the bottom of that screen.
My fax failed. What now?
The credit was refunded automatically, so nothing was lost. The usual causes, in order of how often they happen:
- The number is a phone, not a fax machine. By far the most common. The app checks the number before you send and warns you when it looks like a mobile line, but landline voice numbers cannot always be told apart.
- The receiving machine was busy, switched off, or out of paper. Wait a few minutes and send it again.
- The number was mistyped. Check the area code first.
SatisFaxion retries once on its own before giving up, so a fax that reports failure has already had two attempts.
Where did my credits go?
Credits belong to your installation of the app rather than to an account, because there is no account to sign into. That is what keeps the app free of sign-ups, and it has one real drawback worth being straight about: clearing the app's data, uninstalling and reinstalling, or moving to a new phone can separate you from an unused balance.
If that has happened, email us with the store order number for the credit purchase, from Google Play or the App Store, and, if you still have the old phone, the install ID from its Settings screen. We can move a balance across. Do not buy the pack again first.
How do I get a refund?
Failed faxes refund themselves with no action needed from you. For a refund of a credit purchase, that transaction belongs to the store you bought from, so it goes through your Google Play or App Store order history or Google's refund request form. If Play turns you down and you think the circumstances warrant it, email us and explain.
Can I receive faxes?
Not yet. Receiving requires renting a phone number every month, which is exactly the recurring cost this app was built to avoid, so it is not something to bolt on carelessly. It is being worked on.
How do I delete everything?
Open Settings in the app and choose Wipe history. That removes your fax records from the server and clears your documents, saved recipients, and session log from the phone. To have every trace of your install ID removed from our systems, email us with that ID and we will confirm when it is gone. Deleting your records also deletes any unused credits, because the balance is the record.
Something in the app is broken
Tell us what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead. A screenshot helps more than anything else, and the device model and the Android or iOS version help too. SatisFaxion is built by one person, so bug reports get read by the person who can fix them.
